Interactions works with 13-19-year-olds who are excluded or at risk of exclusion, providing access to positive creative activities through which they can improve their academic attainment and achieve their goals.

Interactions is designed to support students who may be experiencing some or all of the following issues:

  • Inability to self-regulate emotions
  • Poor communication skills and low literacy levels
  • Preference for physical activity and kinesthetic learning
  • Lack of self-esteem
  • Low career aspiration
  • Behavioural issues
  • Vulnerable to gang related activities or grooming (easily influenced)
  • Adversely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and as a result suffering with social, emotional and mental health difficulties

The 6-week group workshops can accommodate up to 12 students and include creative exercises to explore:

  • Identity; how participants see and present themselves, their strengths, and ambitions.
  • Positive relationships
  • Understanding emotions and developing empathy

Each workshop lasts for up to 2 hours, however, we are flexible and happy to fit in with your school timetable.

On completion of the 6-week programme, students will be invited to join weekly evening sessions, based at Immediate Theatre so that they can continue on their journey to achieving their long term goals and aspirations.
